2010 NFL Championship Games

My opportunity to recoup some of my season’s losses is fading, the decision to play Peyton Manning and the Saints Defense over Drew Brees and the Ravens Defense in round one is proving to be a costly one as the Brees/Ravens combo (56.8) would have provided an additional (34.55 ) points over the combo of Peyton/Saints (22.25). I don’t need to discuss my shortcomings in the Divisional round either where I chose to remove the Steelers Defense (19pts) at the last minute for the Patriots D (0 pts). Rodgers (43.6) and Cutler (42) were the QB plays this round, Thanks Tom!

Packers at Bears; That Week 17 in Chicago wasn’t an easy game for the Packers they needed to win to qualify for the post-season and even though it had no effect on the Bears positioning they still played the starters in through the 4th qtr which keep the Packers struggling most of three quarters and into the fourth when Rodgers 1 yard pass to Donald Lee secured they’re wild card spot. Rodgers finish19 of 28 for 229 -1-1 not the wowing stats were seeing now, he was also Green Bay’s leading rusher 7 runs 21 yards 0 TD on the other side Jay Cutlers QB rating in his last four regular season meetings vs. Green Bay; 43.2, 74.9, 82.5 and 43.5 I don’t think I would be going out on a limb if I were to suggest an elementary theory; Turnovers. Chicago wins by securing the ball and Special Teams play. Green Bay wins if the receivers are catching the passes they should and the defense wins the turnover battle.

Packers 30 Bears 28

Jets at Steelers; I really believe the Steelers Defense will be the factor in this game as much as I think Tomlinson deserves a shot at a Super Bowl I also believe the PIT defense will be stifling up front in an effort to make Sanchez beat them with that in mind I would not really like to mention Santonio Holmes as a possible X-Factor with a personal matter at heart. Santonio Holmes? Talk about a missed opportunity, being a Cardinals fan I still do have contempt for the Steelers as well as would any fan of their team that was right there, a chance at NFL Immortality right at your finger tips only to be swiped away by your opponents finger tips (Holmes), though my teams tenure in futility has been an enduring arduous time, still another Steelers Super Bowl victory would twist the metaphorical dagger in the hearts of the Forty-Niners and Cowboys faithful, you don’t want to see the Steelers get their seventh ring! You can’t deny the history of the Steelers organization; as much as I hate to admit it, it’s an aura almost of mystical proportions and one that will not be replicated in the desert of Arizona as the Cardinals already have an historic aura of mystical proportions themselves and we all know what that is. But if you want to have some fun, the next time you see a Steelers fan outside of Pittsburgh ask them if they have ever seen a Hypocycloid. OK enough yammering, back to the game. I put the fate of my Fantasy Challenge into the hands of the AFC home teams and they’re Super Bowl winning Quarterbacks and both times the Jets Defense did me no favors and now returning to Heinz Field to face another Super Bowl winning quarterback in his back yard where the Jets coincidently snapped a two game losing streak in week 15, Can they do it one more time? Can Ben do what Brady and Peyton couldn’t? The Jets have been quiet this week, is this a sign of accomplishment and not wanting to push the envelope, after all they had to go through Peyton to get to their arch rival and evil enemy Patriots whom they really burned for and were vocal to the matter.. If the Jets lose this game will it be they used up all their fuel, has the bravado worn off? Should they have kept talking smack to keep that edge? Ward was held in check by Revis and Wallace took advantage of Cromartie with 7 catches for 102 yards that should change this round so I anticipate Emmanuel Sanders, Brown, Miller and Mendenhall will be the difference makers this time around.
