Divisional Round
Well my Wild-Card thoughts didn’t work out as well, as I thought? I’m only 48.15 points out of first place. Need a good showing this week to see if I even have a chance to compete the rest of the way out.
Packers at Falcons; You have to like what Green Bay is fielding on defense, they are playing solid at every level with Jenkins return last week and B.J Raji upfront to the backers Bishop, Hawk and Matthews then Collins and Woodson in the secondary. Atlanta holds there own at home and Ryan not Rodgers will be making a pro bowl appearance. It was a grudge match in Week 12. FB Ovie Mughelli had a monster game cleaning up the Packers defenders allowing Michael Turner to rack up 110 yards and a TD to edge the Pack; 20-17. Rodgers still got his, throwing for 344 yards and a touch but the emergence of James Starks at RB could be the key that leads Green Bay to North Texas.
Packers 21 Falcons 20.
I will start Michael Jenkins and (K) Matt Bryant in this round.
Seahawks at Bears; There was inkling that an upset could be brewing in Seattle vs. New Orleans and it happened. I said I do not expect to see either the Saints or the Seahawks in the Super Bowl and I do not expect the Seahawks to upset the Bears in Chicago, just being realistic here, right? Seattle had been woeful on the road all season getting drubbed in most cities they visited except Glendale, Az and well, Chicago in week 6 , WHAT? So your telling me of the only two road games Seattle won, one was in Solider Field? Oh Brother! So I guess this means next week I will be talking about how the Packers will meet they’re doom at Seattle in the NFC Championship Game! Bears 28 Seahawks 14.
I will start Mike Williams, Johnny Knox, Matt Forte and Bears Defense.
Jets at Patriots; N.E is my Favorite to win the AFC so I have to believe the Patriots will come out and dismiss the Jets on they’re road to North Texas by putting another embarrassing beat down on the J-E-T-S, but this is the NFL Playoffs and anything can happen especially after your Quarterback taunts the defense he was carving up to the tune of 326 yards and four touchdowns on a Monday Night. The Jets were able to put up over 100 yards on the ground in each of the two regular season meetings in a combined effort of Greene and Tomlinson though neither would find the end-zone. We know these two teams really do harbor animosity towards each other so if the Jets expect win this game it will come down to Mark Sanchez doing his best Tom Brady impression and New York defense playing sound ball, they get reckless and play with hatred and anger they will get burned. I expect the Patriots maintain they’re composer and generate most of the points in this game. Patriots 38 Jets 10
I’ll start Brady and Gronkowski.
Ravens at Steelers. Three words Relentless, Punishing and Defenses. The Ravens beat the Steelers at Heinz Field in week 4, 17 – 14 then the Steelers returned the favor in Week 13 at Baltimore beating the Ravens 13-10. No intimidation here, they know each other knows they can win in each others back yard. Though Ben was not available for the week 4 tilt Joe Flacco was and played well in both games generating 256 -1-1 and 266–1-0 in each of the first two regular season meetings. I anticipate points will be at a premium in this defense dominated round three. Ravens 13 Steelers 10.
No starts for me in this game.
