NFL 2010 Divisional Round – In the Books

Ravens at Steelers- I thought points would be at a premium because yards would be hard to come by. As neither team is accustom to surrendering points on the ground each allowed one rushing touchdown in the first quarter. Ravens had it going on with sacks of Ben and two touchdowns off of Steeler turnovers that gave the Ravens a 21-7 going into the third quarter thats when the Steelers decided they need a few take-aways of their own in which they took three from Baltimore which ultimately sealed the Ravens fate.

Jets at Patriots- First off I have to acknowledge the Jets Defense, they did exactly what they were suppose to do; Keep your head straight and focus. They made Brady uncomfortable and did not allow him to get a into a rhythm. I’m not sure what is going here; Jets go into Indy, knock off Peyton Manning at home, then travel to Foxborough to take Tom Brady out to the wood shed and now it’s the Jets with a third year Quarterback, Mark Sanchez that gets another shot at title with a second consecutive AFC Championship appearance. I’m not sure what to say other than the Jets have just the right amount of pieces in the right places. They are dialing up the perfect combination of players, coaching, swagger and attitude.

Seahawks at Bears; As unrealistic was the notion that Seattle would go into Solider Field and take care of business I will still give Seattle credit here especially Matt Hasselbeck he was playing some of his best ball in these 2010 playoffs, obviously he is missing a few pieces in a surrounding cast, still Matt played well enough to win the game, I’m sure no one would care to argue that? After all he only threw for 530 yards and 7 touchdowns in back to back playoff games. Two Solid performances.

Packers at Falcons I thought the Pack would win but I have to admit just not as convincing as they did, it was a bludgeoning of the Falcons in the Second and Third quarters that doomed Atlanta with a Green Bay Defense playing as they are, there was no way they were going to let the Falcons take a breath. McCarthy wanted a three touchdown lead going into the half; he got it and now off to Chicago. This ones gonna be good.
